Born and raised in South Dakota, Alan Townsend is a 3rd generation real estate broker and property manager.
Born and raised in South Dakota, Alan Townsend is a 3rd generation real estate broker and property manager. Mentored and trained in the Townsend family Real Estate company in land ownership, financing, investments, construction— as well as residential, investment and commercial ownership taxes.
Over the past 35 years, Alan has developed 2 industrial parks, built several commercial buildings, developed a 125-room hotel, purchased land as authorized agents for multiple business clients, and developed and built over 100 homes. This experience has helped build a strong understanding of Real Estate investment and property care.
The value of good accounting, on-time payments, regular inspections and preventative maintenance are vital skills that were established and remain the backbone of Rancho Mesa Properties’ systems.

Gordon Carpenter
Gordon and Cathy Carpenter have personally owned and managed residential rental property for 30+ years in San Diego.
Gordon and Cathy have personally owned and managed residential rental property for 30+ years in San Diego. Beginning in 2005, as a partial owner of Rancho Mesa Properties, Gordon now offers this management expertise to property owners along the I-15 and SR-56 corridors, from La Jolla to Rancho Bernardo. Supporting his property management activities is Cathy Carpenter, also a real estate agent, who helps with property inspections, tenant relations and office work.
Property management experience extends back two generations in Gordon’s family, beginning with Gordon Sr. We are experienced in purchasing, selling and 1031 real estate exchanges, however our primary real estate focus is on providing you efficient and cost effective property management.

Imelda Ortega
Imelda Ortega has been involved in property care and management for over 15 years in the San Diego Area.
Imelda Ortega has been involved in property care and management for over 15 years in the San Diego Area. She worked as an on-site manager of up to 210 rented apartments prior to joining Rancho Mesa Properties. The position required skill in all aspects of operations and care: including city, fire and section 8 housing inspection & repairs. Other experience includes property accounting, banking, leasing, repair bidding, and completion and inspections for all properties.
Imelda is our company’s section 8 specialist and a master of larger apartment buildings, single units, and safety inspection. Imelda speaks both English and Spanish.

Daniel Zanoni
Daniel joined the Rancho Mesa Team and acquired a real estate license. His 2 years experience has earned him the opportunity to manage the La Jolla and University City rental homes for the company
A California native from Marin County, grew up working at his father’s flooring business learning construction, estimating, and general business procedures. Throughout High school Daniel excelled in grades and lettered in Basketball and Track. On moving to San Diego in 2006, Daniel joined the Rancho Mesa Team and acquired a real estate license. His 2 years experience has earned him the opportunity to manage the La Jolla and University City rental homes for the company. Hard work and dedication has elevated Daniel to a full time member of the Rancho Mesa management staff.
In addition to property management, Daniel has developed a close working relationship with Ever home Mortgage Company. Attention to detail and strong marketing skills have enabled Daniel to be selected to manage and sell foreclosed homes throughout San Diego County. Through real estate sales and property management training, Daniel has developed many valuable skills in all areas of Real Estate including: Evictions, tenant negotiations, marketing and all areas of real estate sales.
